For a half-day tour up to 4 hours, morning or afternoon (before or after 13:00) or evening (before 23:00): £150-170
Where service is required for longer than 4 hours, up to 9 hours, ending before: 18:00 £240-270
Where service is required for a one-day excursion, it is customary for the Guide to enjoy a lunch break of one hour.
Where service is required in addition to the above:
07:00 - 23:00 £40-45
23:00 - 07:00 £50-55
If lunch is not provided - £14
If dinner is not provided, after 19:00 - £22
In order for the Guide to be able to undertake a morning and an afternoon engagement on the same day, morning tours are expected to finish by 13:00 (timings to and from central Lake District) and afternoon engagements are not expected, in general, to start before 13:30, to allow for an adequate transit time for the Guide.
The fee negotiated will vary from client to client. Higher rates may be agreed, for example within the range above, for customised tours, or tours that require a good deal of reconnaissance, for specialist knowledge, or because of a client’s or tour operator’s particular requirements.
