A Headstart for Under 17's

Many teenagers are counting down the days to their seventeenth birthday, when they can finally hit the road with an instructor ahead of their driving test. With Atlantic Star Driving School you can start before you turn 17 to get a head start on driving. Our driving instructors cover Stockport, Sale, Altrincham and nearby areas.

However, did you know Headstart allows young people to get behind the wheel and hone their driving skills from the age of 13? Our pupils learn in a dual-controlled car with a DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) qualified instructor, in a safe, supervised environment.

While other providers may push the written tests and training videos, we believe there's no substitute for experience - that's why, with our lessons, the emphasis is firmly on learning the practical driving skills that will ensure your child is a smart, safe motorist once they cast off their L-plates.

Headstart is an initiative from the Atlantic Star Driving School; we've been delivering the programme to under 17's in Stockport and the surrounding areas for more than 20 years. When they receive their provisional licenses, our pupils already have the basics covered and are on their way to test standard ahead of their peers!

Who Can Learn with Headstart?

If you are based in Stockport, Sale, Altrincham or the surrounding area and aged between 13 and 17 and 4'11” (1.5m) tall (or above), you can start to learn key driving skills with Headstart! Pupils learn in comfort and style in one of our dual controlled vehicles. As our programme is structured to follow the curriculum of the DVSA, you'll be able to start preparing for your driving test from your first lesson!

Each pupil that completes a minimum of 6 hours will receive a voucher, entitling them to a FREE driving lesson provided by Atlantic Star Driving School when the pupil reaches 17 years of age and books a block of 10 hours of driving lessons. The voucher does not have an expiry date, so can be used at anytime in the future. T+C'S apply.
