FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s important to us that any questions you have about the villa, the surrounding area and the island itself are answered on these pages so that you can book with confidence. See below for our responses to some of the questions we are asked most frequently.

How much is the deposit to secure a booking?

10 per cent

Is it necessary to rent a vehicle?

Yes, ideally, although taxis could suffice. Oasis de Nazaret, where Villa Elena is situated, is virtually in the centre of the island and therefore a suitable base from which to explore the many attractions Lanzarote has to offer. The villa owner can recommend a reputable car hire company.

Where are the nearest beaches?

Costa Teguise is about a 20-minute drive and is one of the upmarket resorts on the island, with a good selection of restaurants and shops. In the north west is Famara, a much smaller resort but with some pleasant eateries (about 30 minutes' drive). Puerto del Carmen, the island's main resort, is approximately a 35-minute drive and has extensive beaches and many restaurants.

Villa Elena is self-catering, so where is the nearest food store?

The nearest shop is in the village of Nazaret - about five minutes' drive. This is relatively well stocked but, for a wider selection, there is a bigger supermercado on the outskirts of Arrecife (the island's capital) which can be reached within about 10 minutes. There you can use credit cards, although you must have your passport.

How effective are mobile phones on the island?

Signals are good. Additionally, Villa Elena (unlike neighbouring villas) has a payphone which can also receive incoming calls.
