A visit to Costa Teguise promises miles of golden sandy beaches, an eclectic selection of shops and a variety of bars to suit every taste. 

Famara is a small coastal village on the north coast, offering a taster of island life on Lanzarote away from the main tourist destinations. The beach of San Juan attracts surfers from far and wide and the local restaurants and bars are a real treat. 

Puerto Del Carmen is one of the longest-established and best-known holiday resorts on the island of Lanzarote. Just 10 minutes from the airport in the south of the island, Puerto Del Carmen has grown from a small fishing village into a fantastic holiday destination complete with miles of sandy beaches, excellent restaurants to suit every budget, sports facilities, shopping complexes and annual carnivals. 

There is a local store nearby which is well stocked, reasonably priced and all members of staff are always very friendly. The shop is open between 9am – 1pm and 4pm-8pm on weekdays and closed from 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. 

Eurospar, which is just a ten-minute drive away, is the nearest supermarket. Credit cards are accepted, however, you may be asked to show your passport. 

Lagomar Restaurant is one of the best local eateries and, what’s more, after an enjoyable meal, it’s just a short and very pleasant downhill walk back to the villa.
