What is wood worm infestation?
Wood worm infestation is a result of wood boring insects feeding on the timbers within the property. There are many species of woodworm, the most common is a common furniture beetle (Anobium punctatum). Woodworm can severely damage the timbers leaving a trail of destruction behind them. The tunnels and bore holes left by the woodworm will weaken the timber this will have an impact on the structure of the building.

Under the right conditions wood worm can be found in skirting boards, floor boards, architraves and in roof timbers. The right humidity and inadequate ventilation are associated with woodworm infestation. Severe infestations can totally destroy furniture and structural timbers.
