“Lovely old house”
The Old Farmhouse is an amazing building with a wonderful host. Very quirky inside. Our room was beautiful with a 6 inch slope form back to front which makes for a strange sensation when I got up in the night! Lovely breakfast.

“Lovely property and host”
Lovely Tudor home combining three cottages with modern plumbing. Friendly host, very nice breakfast especially the mushrooms. We really enjoyed our overnight stay here and would certainly stay again if in the area. Wifi is incredibly erratic but that seems to be general to the area.

“Beautiful Old "very english" B&B”
We were well looked after at The Old Farmhouse in Chevely. The B&B was idyllically English......old, thatched, period features, dating back to 16th century. Wow! After a day of cycling, we had a lovely home cooked evening meal, a good nights sleep and a wonderful breakfast, ready for another day of cycling. Most enjoyable stay.

“5 star accomodation in Downton Abbey setting”
Just marvelous- wonderful accommodation, the most charming host and a pub on the door step. The Old Farmhouse is full of British charm. The breakfast will surpass any expectations. All this set in the stunning countryside. Just book it.

“Old World Charm”
My husband and I were extremely pleased with our stay at The Old Farmhouse in Cheveley. We were given excellent directions as we were arriving late at night. The cottage was utterly delightful, and steeped in old world charm, as was our lovely hostess, Anne-Mary! We were made most welcome by the two labradors on our arrival and the bedroom was quirky and very cosy indeed. The breakfast was superb, beautifully presented, with everything you could possibly want, including a wonderful selection of homemade jams and marmalades. We will certainly stay there again when next visiting Newmarket.

“Delightful and charming B&B”
After a long walk we were very glad to be welcomed by Anne-Mary and Sally in their wonderful thatched farmhouse. We were spoiled by Anne-Mary's home cooked dinner and slept soundly in the very comfortable beds. This B&B is really a very special place - do go if you get the chance.

“Absolutely fantastic! One of the best Bed & Breakfasts we have ever been too!”
We stayed at the Old Farmhouse in Cheveley in April/May 2014 and were blown away by everything about our stay. The farmhouse itself is cosy, welcoming and full of olde worlde charm. Anne-Mary was simply a wonderful host and could not do enough for us. The rooms are quaint and full of character but are clean, nicely furnished and comfortable. Evenings can be spent by the roaring log fire in the cosy sitting room with Sally the dog at your feet - absolutely perfect! The garden was absolutely huge and stunningly beautiful - perfect for sitting out in summer evenings! Breakfasts were cooked to perfection- literally the best mushrooms we have ever tasted! The Old Farmhouse is perfectly situated in a quiet location - the perfect way to get away from it all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Farmhouse - so much so, we literally cried when we returned home as we knew we would miss everything about this fabulous Bed and Breakfast! We will definitely return - magical!

“A real find!”
We should have known when we booked. Anne Mary phoned us to let us know that our deposit cheque had arrived and to say she was looking forward to our visit. That sort of courteous kindness was evident throughout our stay at the Old Farmhouse. We had pre-ordered an evening meal, which was very good indeed and we enjoyed sitting by the log fire with our coffee afterwards. Our room was comfortable, quiet and clean and the breakfast very nicely cooked and presented. We went on our way rested and happy - and you cannot ask for more than that.

“Wonderful hostess, great welcome, unique experience of olde worlde atmosphere”
This was our second visit and it was as good as ever. Anne-Mary is lovely- charming and helpful, yet unobtrusive, and a great breakfast cook. Very nice coffee! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but mind your head on the beams of the 17th century ceiling. There are nice touches like the cold milk in the upstairs fridge for morning tea!

“A wonderful experience!”
Anne Mary and the pups add to the wonderful charm that is The Old Farmhouse in Cheveley, Cambridgeshire. The grounds are well kept and offer adventure for children and adults alike. The gourmet meals prepared by Anne Mary are a tribute to her training as a French Chef. We so enjoyed our stay and will return!

“First time in a B&B and probably the best one I will ever see!”
Staying in a home that is nearly 500 years old is something that would never happen where I'm from. Anne Mary offers the full B&B experience with two well behaved dogs and was a great host. If you like old architecture and homes with charm I wouldn't pass this up.

“The Crooked House”
Had a lovely stay at The Old Farmhouse, Anne Mary and the dogs were very welcoming. The house is old and has a lot of character, hence the crooked house title. A very large and lovely garden was also available to us. With a very nice breakfast in the morning
If we are back up this way again, we will not hesitate to re-book.
Room Tip: If you are going to the Adnams Newmarket nights, order a return taxi otherwise its a long walk.

“Everything a B&B should be”
We chose the Old Farmhouse B&B in Cheveley, nr. Newmarket because it was close to the venue for a friend's 60th birthday party, but it far exceeded our expectations. Two old houses knocked together ages ago, the oldest parts dating back to 1545, there isn't a straight line or flat floor in the place, nooks and crannies everywhere and mind your head at all times. A fine helping of old Englishness, finely balanced with the amenities of modern life - good bathrooms, televisions, wifi throughout. Our host, Anne Mary Robinson, was absolutely charming and a fine cook if the splendid breakfasts are anything to go by. We felt completely at home, and a fine sunny weekend allowed us to take advantage of the huge garden. We will definitely return.

“Beautifully presented, comfortable surroundings and extremely welcoming”
Lovely stay at this very atmospheric thatched bed & breakfast. A gracious welcome by owner/host Anne Mary Robinson who showed us to the two cozy rooms under the eaves complete with antiques, books and good artwork. She also invited us to enjoy the lounge with its huge inglenook fireplace and made us a fire there in the evening and we relaxed from our day's activities on comfy sofas with a supply of magazines. As a trained chef, we also ordered dinner one evening and enjoyed her gourmet meal plus the cooked to order breakfasts. There is also an excellent gastro pub within five minutes walk. A great location and stay and dog friendly!

“Old world charm with exquisite food”
A charming old house, bedroom as you would expect in an historic house with the shower tucked in a 16th century nook, but comfortable and quiet. Not recommended if you want all modern tiles and plastic with wall to wall mirrors.
If you are lucky enough to persuade Anne Mary to cook an evening meal for you it will be an exquisite experience. If she is not around there is a good pub up the road.
Easy parking, pleasant garden, dog friendly. A thoroughly enjoyable two nights.

“Outstanding value, great hostess, incredible history”
My wife and our two friends were on an extensive tour of Great Britain and had the good fortune to book The Old Farmhouse as one of the several B&B's along our route. Ann Mary is a gracious hostess, the house was built in 1545 and is beautifully maintained. Ann Mary is a French trained chef and the dinner she prepared for us was fabulous. The rooms are a bit small but that is to be expected in such a setting, the garden is beautiful. The WiFi works well and the breakfast was great. Good price for what you get!
