What is Key alike?
This is a group of locks that are keyed alike together, it means that one key can open any of the locks. This is the difference to ‘keyed to differ’ locks, were you would need a different key for each lock. Unless stated otherwise, the standard lock will come in a ‘keyed to differ’ form.
What are the benefits?
Keying alike is useful for many reasons, because you can have one key to open every lock that you have. This means that you can have multiple locks on the same door and not have to worry about finding the right key for the right lock. Having this lock will save you money on spare keys, if your locks weren’t keyed alike and you lost or needed a spare key for 5 different locks this could cost you a lot of money. However, if your locks are keyed alike then you will only need one key and one spare key for all locks. Saving you a considerate about of money.
