Unique Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in Belper, Close to Chesterfield and Derby

We have 4 sleeping spaces to suit families or 6 people in various combinations.

Facilities

Our bed and breakfast has an outdoor hot tub and plenty of off-road parking for several cars. There are two electric hook-up points for outdoor use. 

Also, there are two outdoor taps for cleaning walking gear and vehicles. The location of our accommodation is good for walkers, cyclists, and bikers. Our outdoor hot tub is heated all year. Indoors there is a fireplace in the studio.

Belonging to a former school, the yard gives secure off-road parking and the carport provides shelter for outdoor use. The main room has a Yotel multi- burner to add to the central heating. There is capacity for 10 at the extended dining table on a dais/platform to allow for a dinner party invitation. An original dining hatch is useful. There is a traditional games cupboard and many books to use freely. We also have a piano here which you are free to play should you wish to. Art projects can be catered for with expert guidance from our hostess or local friends.          

Accommodation in Belper, in the Midst of the Derbyshire Countryside

A countryside location enhances the experience of tranquillity and a restful holiday experience. We are 20-minutes from Matlock Bath and the original Peak District and National Park, the World Heritage site of the Derwent River from Derby to Cromford. There is a Birdswood canal trip from Cromford meadows.

Arkwright built several mills there for spinning and working with cotton imported via Liverpool and the canal system. Although not in use now, Hartshay has a short stretch of the canal from your base for regular dog walks.

Strutt mills used the water from the river Derwent as did the Silk Mill in Derby. An exhibition of Rolls-Royce engines is available in the Silk Mill in Derby.

Access from M1 Junctions 27 and 28 onto A38 South or A610 West. When you travel from the A6, it is 2 miles from Ambergate.
