The potential impact of Brexit on the Logistics Industry

Whilst it is difficult to predict with any certainty, Britain operating outside the EU would almost certainly add complication and potential cost to supply chain and the movement of goods across our borders.

One of the complications is that rather than reducing red tape, Brexit would mean the opposite as Britain would have to take on the challenge of negotiating its trade deals with the rest of the world.  This could lead to an uplift in demand for specialist services, such as managing complicated and unfamiliar customs procedures.  Virtually nothing changes for freight transport operations until the government gives formal notice to leave the EU and exit negotiations start.
