With a maximum lift height of 16.7 metres, the telehandler offers admirable lift performance, particularly so when the stabilisers are extended. Its maximum lift capacity in this situation is 4000kg, 2500kg at full height and 600kg at full reach. The maximum lift height is a good 16.7m and, in this situation, the reach extends to 2.05m and maximum forward reach is 12.50m. Load the telehandler with a 1 tonne load and you can expect 10.50m with a placing height of 16.20m.
The 17mtr telehandler harnesses the very latest technology and advanced design features in order to offer low fuel consumption, high torque and power output, and reduced noise. This is an engine which offers total reliability whilst promising minimal maintenance.
JCB’s powershift transmission incorporates a torque converter, bevel box and a 4 speed powershift gearbox all contained within one mounted unit. The machine also features a combined steering column mounted switch, which incorporates directional control, 4 forward and 4 reverse powershift gears. The machine delivers four wheel drive with travel speeds of up to 18mph and features front and rear drive axles; JCB epicyclic hub reduction drive/steer axles with Max-Trac torque proportioning differentials.
The telehandler is fitted with oil-immersed servo-assisted service brakes which are hydraulically activated, self-adjusting and placed on both the front and rear axle. The hand operated disc parking brake is on the output of gearbox.
The low maintenance high tensile steel boom features hard wearing pads and the JCB Q-fit self-levelling carriage (featuring lever operated pin locking) takes pallet forks and a variety of attachments. One boom end auxiliary hydraulic service is fitted as standard. For your peace of mind, safety check valves are fitted to the carriage tilt, telescopic, and boom lift rams.
The machine is fitted with a12 v negative earth, 125 AH battery and 85 amp alternator. Operators benefit from full road lighting, a reversing light, direction indicators and a hazard warning system as well as a reverse alarm.
Within the cab, the operator will find a quiet, safe and comfortable working environment and the cab itself conforms to ROPS ISO 3471 and FOPS ISO 3449. There is tinted glass all round with a laminated roof screen and roof bars as well as front, rear and roof screen wash/wipers and a heater/screen demister. The opening rear window also boosts visibility and air circulation.
An audio-visual warning system is fitted to display coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, air cleaner, battery charge, transmission oil temperature and pressure. Upon the dash you will also discover the hourmeter and road speed indicator, engine temperature and the fuel gauge.
JCB telehandlers are controlled by servo joystick hydraulic control levers and the adaptable column includes stalk powershift change and forward reverse shuttle. The throttle and brake pedal can be found raised from the floor and the park brake is adjacent to the adjustable suspension seat. An automatic eye level audio-visual load moment indicator warning system displays a signal from a load sensor on the rear axle – which continuously informs the operator of the machine’s forward stability. The machine has a levelling inclinometer installed, plus indicator lamps, to confirm when the stabilisers are on firm ground.
The 17mtr telehandler is fitted with hydrostatic power steering which features three distinct steer mode options of front wheel steer, all wheel steer and crab steer. Each can be operated from inside the cab by a selection switch.
